SOMETHING STILL RESISTS – 2021

Something still resists
is a series that starts from a process of research and experimentation of self portraits with the purpose of generating an approach to my body observing it from the outside.
During 2021 in many moments I felt empty, vulnerable and even defeated. I decided to be a spectator of my own naked body making self portraits. This allowed me to go beyond the images and see my state of mind reflected in the photographs.
Something that was interesting for me was that I saw the series and I did not recognize my naked body, but I remembered the abandoned space, how I felt and the sensations I had that day. By seeing it captured, I was able to connect both with the images and with my own body.

This whole process of experimentation led me to look for some kind of different final support so that the images would take more strength, and that the support used would also express and reinforce the concept sought in the images.

I found in a mixed technique, photography and rubble with tile, the way to unify the fragility of the body with the solidity of a material.
